The Synopsis

Lord if there was ever a word I hated it is....synopsis. Sorry synopsis but you are dreaded by me and I'm sure many more authors.

Why the hate on the synopsis...ugh. Well...when you are the type of writer I am you just don't like that word. I'm a Pantser when it comes to a lot of things in my life...writing being one of them. I do not plot. Okay...let me start over. I do plot out books but they are usually no more than a few sentences to get the idea of the book out of my head and onto a piece of paper. There is no outline. There is just the beginning of an idea and a general idea of where I want the story to go. 99.9% of the time the plot of the books changes. Sometimes small...sometimes in a huge way. I literally let me fingers guide me while I'm writing a book.

So...with this book that we are doing the the #FollowMyJourney on...GOOD ENOUGH. Let me catch you up on it. I spoke with my agent and she told me to send her what I've written so far guessed it. A synopsis of the rest of the story. Lord almighty I put it off all weekend y'all. No joke. This morning I sat down and put down some general thoughts where I wanted the book to go and basically told them it would really depend on where my fingers took me.

Now...this is where the waiting begins. My agent will sent it over to the acquisition editor at Montlake and we wait. Will they like it and want the next book (or the next two books in the series), will they want me to make major changes? I don't mind making changes but they would really have to point out and make their case why they wanted it changed. Or will they pass and I will end up self publishing it (not the option I want of course)? I don't know how long it will take. Sometimes it is a few weeks...sometime over a month. I will keep writing in the book though but I'm also going to start on the next Southern Bride book as well. I don't normally write two books at once. It's not because I can't, I've written three at one time...I just prefer not to do it that way. I like to be in one world at a time. I am excited about the next Southern Bride book though! It's going to be a good one.

Okay...enough of all of that. So that is where we are y'all in the process. I'm still writing. It's been sent to my agent and we wait.......

Meanwhile, I shall go clean my kitchen!

I've been finding lots of things to distract me from actually writing. I don't think I've sat down to write in at least five days. *shrugs* Sometimes the break is needed and clearly it was needed. I r
